Translational Science 2015 Joint Awards Program

At the Translational Science 2015 annual meeting, ACTS and AFMR presented awards to investigators with outstanding contributions of investigators and educators in the field. 

Winners of these awards are the following: 

ACTS Team Science Award: Women's Health Initiative

 

ACTS Distinguished Educator Award: Michael F. Fleming, MD, MPH of Northwestern University

ACTS Distinguished Investigator Award for Career Achievement and Contribution to Clinical and Translational Science for Translation from Early Clinical Use to Applicability for Widespread Clinical Practice: Francis E. Marchlinski, MD of Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania

ACTS Distinguished Investigator Award for Career Achievement and Contribution to Clinical and Translational Science for Translation from Clinical Use into Public Benefit and Policy: Kevin Volpp, MD PhD of Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania 

AFMR Outstanding Investigator Award: Dr. Keith Josephs, Jr. of Mayo Clinic 

 

Translational Science 2015 Trainee Travel Awards

The Burroughs-Wellcome Fund Trainee Travel Awards were awarded to twenty-four trainees who attended the Translational Science 2015 Meeting.  

Trainees benefited with special sessions designed for their interests such as "Meetings with Program Officers," poster sessions, and networking opportunities.
